3 new staff join the project, thanks to Heritage Lottery support!

We are delighted to welcome three new staff to the Yorkshire Man of Steel team! Their roles will focus on developing the 1st round of our Heritage Lottery award and over the next few weeks we will be telling you more about them and the work they will be doing.

Architects, planners, engineers and education experts will collaborate with our team to design an exciting and original Interpretation Hub including an education space, exhibition area, café and a shop. The Hub will connect with a 20 metre Observation Tower, from which visitors will be able to view the landscape and learn more about the heritage of the region and recent changes in local manufacturing that have seen a rapid growth in the new technology sector.

Our team of experts will work closely with schools and private sector partnerships to build learning opportunities combining heritage and the new technologies, including STEM initiatives, to inspire students to seek apprenticeships in the advanced manufacturing sector.

It will take 9 months to fully develop the plans outlined above, by which time we will be in a position to make a presentation to the Heritage Lottery Fund for 2nd round funding to assist the delivery phase of this exciting part of the Yorkshire Man of Steel project.
