Brief to Architects submitted:

Our Heritage Lottery funded team have been busy  visiting a number of visitor destinations such as  Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Magna Science Adventure Centre, and Kelham Island Museum. Martha and Suzy  take their research seriously and even went down t’ pit (literally!) at the National Coal Mining Museum in Wakefield. They have also visited local schools, community groups, and special interest groups. This month they pooled their ideas from these fact finding visits and worked with the rest of the project team to draw up an Architect’s Brief which includes a wish-list of essentials for the build of the Interpretation Hub. The final version of the Architect’s Brief was finished on Friday 10th March and the button was pressed, sending it out to a selection of visionary architects to see what they come up with. The brief includes, an exhibition space, café, shop, toilets, play area, car parking, etc,  plus a selection of inspirational images chosen by our team. More about the designs for the Interpretation Hub will be updated on the website in the coming months.
